How our brewery was born

What do you get when two 30-something pharmacists with four crazy children and one insane idea are presented with a unique opportunity?

Hogback Mountain Brewery and Taproom

Hogback Mountain Brewery was founded in 2015 by Kevin Hanson with his love of brewing. 

In 2018 Jamie and Sam Sawyer were looking for a new adventure in the Vermont craft beer scene and Kevin was looking to have more time to mow his lawn. Everything made perfect sense and in 2019 Hogback Mountain Brewery moved from Kevin’s carriage barn to its current location on Rocky Dale Road in Bristol, Vermont. Though Jamie and Sam changed location and branched out with a taproom, the mission of "Local Supporting Local" has never changed. Sam is 2017 graduate of the American Brewer's Guild and is the creative force behind many of our brews.
